Brief Bio
Pablo Albella holds a prestigious researcher position (RyC) at Univ. of Cantabria (Spain) and visiting researcher of the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London. Before, he was senior research associate for 4 years at Imperial College London and 3 years at the Material Physics Center in San Sebastian. His research interests and activities are mainly devoted to the fields of nanophotonics and materials science. In particular, he is focused in two different topics, plasmonics and HRI all-dielectric systems where designing, modelling and innovating nanostructures to enhance l ight-matter interaction is essential when aiming at enhancing the actual sensing and spectroscopy applications, biosensing, optical nanocircuits or customized metamaterials. ... Brief Bio
Maria Raposo received the Ph.D. degree in Materials Sciences and Engineering by Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil in 1999 and, since 2000, is professor at Physics Department of Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, lecturing Solid State Physics, Surface and Interfaces Technology, Conducting Polymers, Molecular Electronics and Physics of Functional Macromolecular Systems. She is Head of the Functional Molecular Systems group since 2008, whose research interests include electric and optical properties of ultra-thin films of polymers and biomolecules, interf aces and nano-technology, colloids, molecular architectures for electronics, photonics and magnetism, biomimetic membranes and radiation effect in biological systems. ...
